wake up call

not the maroon5 type, but rather the "get your ass out of bed on your off days mic, and do the damn thing." kinda wake up call. i feel like ive been out of the loop, as if nursing school and nursing jobs and nursing everything else has drained the social part out of me. like ive been saying, "no, no, no i cant," so often that no one asks me to do anything anymore. but its cool, even pac says only god can judge me. and bps says, i can only judge myself...true and true. spoke to neens katreens last night and thought, maybe i have to change my job? to fit in with the 9-5'ers so i can go to mtgs or attend things on the weekends, but thats not so easy. running around busting 12 hours shifts here there and everywhere is the way its got to be. soooo, i have to work around it, and thats that fat cat. now, where to begin??

#1. its just an f'ing shame that my place is not fixed yet. im getting another job doing home health just to make ends meet. does that make sense? are nurses supposed to be broke? i didnt think so, but then again maybe that doesnt apply to the RN's with credit card bills, schools loans, rent, and a car note. have i said that already?? i feel like its a running thought in my head. blah. i start my midnight-8am shifts this week. i should be sleeping right now, or getting ready to at least.

#2. gotta invest in a good quality space heater that isnt going to blow up my place. possibly this one. i dont want to turn the heater on 'cause im cheap ass, and most importantly 'cause i didnt quite think of the issue id have during the winter with my curtains in the bedroom. when i use the aircon, no prob. but theyre quite close to the vent opening thats on the ceiling, and the last thing i need is for them to go up in flames 'cause i cant find the tags so iduno if theyre flame retardant or not. dammit. but a friendly ikea source said more than likely they are not...so space heater...here i come!

#3. i have an interview with a home health place this week. can i fit that in the schedule? im gona have to right?? so wiff that, im gona have to invest in a gps and possibly a new phone. i mean, i would like to, i get lost, and id have to find my way!! but ok, ok, priorities sister! hello! i guess there's always the va store where i wont have to pay tax. ggyeah baby.

#4. tickets tickets tickets. tengo que comprar esos asap! nyc, possibly DC, and to miami. yes, 2nd income is a must.

#5. about #1...i have to put the stuff in my boxes away. i believe i moved in in June?? its november, the fcuk??

#6. gota read more. books are the keys to everything. and i have to journal more, not blog, but journal more.

#7. this really isnt anything serious, just being silly, but i ♥ T.I. he's a hottie. and his teeth are perfect. cant get a glimpse of the gleaming grill in this pic, but when you see it, you'll be wow'd. ha!

...alright, guess i should get going. my place doesnt have the best parking spots and i have to leave tonight by 1130pm. blah. in about 10hrs, it'll be time to make the donuts.

Got everybody watching what I do
come walk in my shoes
and see the way Im livin if you really want to
got my mind on my money
and Im not goin nowhere

So keep on getting ya paper and keep on climbing
look in the mirror and keep on shining
till the game ends till the clock stop
we gon'post up on the top spot

So live ya life!

indeed, it is what a wonderful day.

Crispus Attucks fell so that Rosa Parks could sit, Rosa Parks sat so that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. could march, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. marched so that Barack Obama could run, and Barack Obama is running so that our children and grand children can fly.

from an email i received this morning.
thanks ericka!

the time is now.

"We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."
-PRESIDENT-ELECT BARACK OBAMA

[the first family]

[obama delivering his speech]

obama is president and all the world is good and wholesome again. i sat in the living room with my parents and lil' sisters and cried and clapped and was overwhelmed with joy while the numbers climbed, the people all over the nation celebrated, and the crowds of folks in grant park waited eagerly for him to come on stage and deliver his acceptance speech.

midnight last night i could hardly sleep. i prayed for obama and his family, lord i hope that they arent harmed in any way when he becomes president, and i hope that no dumbass is stupid enough to try something during the rally. *can i say dumbass in a prayer, i did. He knows i swear, hello, He knows everything, duh*

0718 my mom & lil sisters & i took a walk down the block. i rocked my vote in a cafeteria that i havent been in for over 15yrs. our lady of pompei was the place to be this morning. i loved seeing the familiar faces out to vote at the crack of dawn. i was surprised to see some neighborhood folks hitting the polls, and maybe im a bit rude to think that they have no clue about politics and im rude to assume they'll swing whatever way the wind blows, but either way, they were out and about exercising their rights.

0800 i returned back to my apt to nap. woke up at about 1100 and chatted with jill. got back to my house-house after going to the new fave mall w robs, animal crossed for a bit, and napped again. gotta take advantage of off days!

about 1715 i woke up to make Obama Spaghetti w bratwurst. Everyone was making election celebration foods like democratic deviled eggs, or yes pecan pies, so hey, aint nothing wrong with pasta for obama. my fam and i flipped through all of the networks for the next few hours. politicking with the pamilya is oh so much fun. then...when the time came to make the announcement that all the world was waiting for...fireworks went off literally, figuratively, emotionally, all of the above. just hearing him speak makes me proud to be american again. this will definitely be a government of the people, by the people, and for the people! obama always says, "we, us and our." i love him, im so glad he won. this is for us now, and us in the future, for our children and our children's children. we are the ones we've been waiting for. and lord knows its not the first time we've heard that quote before. amen, amen, amen.

it truly makes you feel like you can do anything, be anything, accomplish anything! [exhale]

YES WE CAN! and OH YES WE DID!

If you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it!

Wha-oh-ooh-oh-oh-ooooh-oh-oh-oh-oh!

she's does a funky elephant dance, and it appears that she has a robotic hand...but all the while, im still playing it on youtube, singing away (with bridget jones's diary on the tube. first time im watching this movie.) aint it nice to live 1.3mi away from home. its where the heart is.

early this morning we experienced a drunkard siSTAR moment, but we managed to work as a team, and all is well. never ever mix joe pesci, white russians, tequila sunrises, and mardi gras masks. it equals too much glitter, too many feathers, too much fun and much too much ETOH. it was fun times tho, after the growling bear was tucked away to sleep. we talked about past drunkard moments, how we each act differently...how im quite violent and strange when im the borracha. i think im rather funny, but i guess spitting water at people, and trying to kick car doors open instead of using the door handle isnt quite amusing to some. ha.

i chatted it up with j-bps this morning. there's definitely an electrifying buzz in the air about tuesday's results. my cuzn vivs and i made it to lunch, but not to the phone banking spot. *omg, why is this movie making my stomach turn.* but anyway, we didnt make the phone calls, but we will rock the vote. we stopped by michaels. its such a wonderful place. maybe i should start scrap booking? maybe thats what i'll do with the old journal posts? or maybe i should get them binded. oh geeze, projects, projects and more projects. maybe i should get my apt furnished and good to go first blah. im starting to think that i wasnt ready to move out quite yet, but thats another topic. eh. next time na lang.

time for movie night with the momma, the siSTARS and a bowl of popcorn, and maybe s'mores. yay. last movie night was a couple saturdays ago, the 25th. we watched the holiday. that was a motivator. ha. womp.

finally!

cut and paste is my best friend. i just transferred all the newer posts from livejournal to this blog and i just transferred all the blogs i randomly typed up in an email 'cause i knew id eventually get around to making a blog. *e x h a l e* that took some work, i just didnt want to drag out the process any longer. im notorious for not doing stuff on time, getting to places late, being on pilipino time all the time...im working on it!

time to knock out tho:
-the lil siSTARS are at a masquerade party.
-im sleeping at my parents' hz 'cause the damn lights in the stairwell HAVE NOT been fixed and its just spookville without them. im on four now. this starting to get majorly ann-oy-ing!
-tomorrow queen beeh & I are gona grub at el rinconcito cubano for lunch then volunteer at the phone banks at the IL headquaters.
-OBAMA ROCKS!

...and yes, lots of blanks to fill in between now and august! yikes.

two more hours.

im at work, getting ready to call it a night. the sun is red, its setting as we speak. such a beautiful sight. its like calgon taking me away from the sirens that are blaring into our ER, or the local ER's in the district. its taking me away from the flashing lights of the two cop cars sandwiching a mini van into the cul de sac. its taking me away from the call lights and ventilator machine sounds ding, dong, dinging around me. its just really...

calming.

watch me go to my apt home tonight and it be dark as hell. if that light is not fixed in the stairwell, im snappin. how many times does it take to tell them to fix it?? im on three.
